FALCONER, Shirley Margaret (nee Weatherall) - Unexpectedly, but peacefully at her home at Gore, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, aged 88 years. Loved wife of the late Alan, loved mother and mother-in-law of Breck and Helen, Fraser and Sarah, and Lachlan, cherished grandmother of Elliot and Bonnie. A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, 106 Hokonui Drive, Gore, on Thursday, June 18, at 11.00 am, followed by light refreshments, private burial to follow. At Shirley's request, in lieu of flowers, cash donations may be left at the service for Gore & Clutha Whanau Refuge. Messages to P.O. Box 214, Gore 9740.

Sad to read that Mrs Falconer has passed. She was my favorite teacher while at Gore High School. I loved going to her classes and yes she did growl at our chatting but it was never too bad. Thinking of her family at this time of sadness. Tracey Calvert (Neilson)
Very sad to see the passing of Shirley. She was a great English teacher who also enjoyed her wool and spinning. We did get told off a time or too for chatting in her classroom, but we all think of her fondly. Thinking of the family. Kind regards Susan Brookland
