HARDY, Rachel May (nee Plaisted), Peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, after a short and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, dearest friends, and her two cherished dogs, aged 48 years. Beloved and devoted wife of Campbell, Mum of Brayden, Kane, and Olivia, and Nan of Micha, cherished daughter of Edwin and Wendy, treasured sister of Amy, and much-loved Aunty. Rachel will be remembered for her grace, kindness, warmth, strength, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends. Her courage through-out her illness was an inspiration to all who knew her.

A service to celebrate the life of Rachel will be held in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, 106 Hokonui Drive, Gore, on Friday, June 5, at 11.00am. Donations appreciated for Hospice Southland. Messages to: 12 Kerwood Place, Gore 9710.

My sincere condolences to Rachels family and friends, such a sad loss to you all and everyone that knew her. I knew Rachel through her work for the last few years and know that she influenced so many people's lives for the better during that time. It was an honour knowing and working with her. A special person, taken so sadly way too soon. she will be missed but not forgotten.
