HICKEY, Patrick Joseph (Pat) – (Of Queenstown, born East Gore), peacefully in the presence of his loving family, at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Australia, on Monday, June 26, 2023, aged 73. Dearly loved and cherished husband of Jan, adored father and father-in-law of Rowan, Keith and Natalie, much loved Grandpa of Kyle and Kieran, dearest brother of Mary and Doug.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 41 Melbourne Street, Queenstown, on Monday, July 10th, at 1.00pm, followed by an interment at the Frankton Cemetery. A never to be forgotten friend in aviation! Always cheerful, helpful, encouraging and humorous! Kept contact across the globe for nearly 40 years. He never did build that 3/4 scale P51 Mustang that he was on about, but, well, he's got his new wings now! RIP dear Pat.
A character of note when we worked together on my home turf in South Africa. Rest easy Pat
Got to know Pat pretty well working alongside him for Pacific Helicopters in PNG. He was extremely likable and positive always happy to have a yarn and a laugh. RIP Pat Cheers Stu Robertson
Pat was a terrific person and made a positive impact on my life. My heart goes out to Jan, Rowan and family in this difficult time. He will be greatly missed, but never, ever forgotten.
