FLYNN, Judith Anne (nee Scott) - At home, peacefully, surrounded by love on Sunday, February 15 2026, aged 85 years. Much loved and adored wife of John for 64 years, cherished mother and mother-in-law of her fur baby Duncan, John and Lorena, Stephen and Rachel, Scott and Brenda, Angela and Clark McNaughton and Catriona Flynn, gentle, funny, caring and beloved Nana of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thanks from the family to all the wonderful people who helped us during this difficult time, especially Health Central and the amazing District nurses.

‘A lovely Lady’

A memorial service to celebrate Judiths life will be held on Saturday, February 21, at The Packing Shed Café, 68 Bolton Road, Earnscleugh, Alexandra, at 12pm. Donations for Central Otago Hospice can be left at the service. Messages to, PO Box 210, Alexandra – Central Otago Funerals FDANZ

Judith was a very special lady and holds a special place in our hearts. Judith and John, Nancy and I shared many happy holidays, camping in Alexandra, trips in the South Island, (including walking the Holyford), a wonderful tour of the UK and Europe and many family celebrations and gatherings.

I first met Judith and John in Bluff when they were just a young couple. They were trying to sail a yacht and asked if I'd give them a hand. The yacht subsequently capsized and Judith had to dog paddle to shore to keep her new hair do from getting wet. When Judith and John married, Nancy (who was a dress maker), made Judith's wedding and bridesmaids dresses and …
