GRIEVE, Jennifer Helen (Jenny)(nee Tobeck), - Peacefully at Windsor Park Care Home, Gore, on Monday, August 18, 2025, aged 88 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Stuart, treasured Mum and mother-in-law of the late Alistair, Kate and Geoff (Melbourne), Dave and Denise (Haumoana), Phil (Dunedin), and adored Gran of her 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Jenny will be held at the St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Devon Street, Gore on Wednesday, August 27 at 1.30pm, followed by the interment at Charlton Park Cemetery. I’ll never forget Mrs Grieve. My first singing teacher. I was only in primary school (West Gore School) and she would come and pick me up after school in “Isabella” the Morris Minor. I remember fondly the time that Isabella “died” at the bottom of Broughton Street and we had to walk the rest of the way UP to Mitre St to commence that day’s singing lesson. That was a famously “groan” moment.

I can remember sitting in Jenny and Stuart’s lounge room after a lesson and watching “The Flintstones” until Mum or Dad would come to pick me up. I remember Mrs Grieves passion for music. Her abounding enthusiasm for a small country town like Gore to be challenged…
